Greetings Ya! Al-Amin

Walking the streets of a desert city

Under the scorching red hot sun

Gulping cups of water

Brought from the blessed well

Looking at the vast horizon

Of plain brown dry earth

That kept a thousand martyrs

Burried for everlasting peace

Men and women

Old and young

From the East and West

From the North and South

Covered in scarfs and skull caps

Whispering the holy words of praise

Counting a chain of beads

To thy Lord and his Messenger

They say, "Behold the Great Almighty"

and, "Assalamualaikum Ya! Rasul-Allah"

Madinah,
