ARLIER work, Solitary and Solitary II uses charcoal and water colour as its medium. I decided to present Solitary III from photography perspective. Given the medium, obviously it's almost impossible for me to snap a photo of a bear hunting for honey (Solitary II) or a moose on a hill top (Solitary I). So, a vase would suffice - enough to manifest the melancholy of loneliness - an abandoned vase at a haunted house in Shah Alam.

ENANG trishaw or affectionately referred to as "beca" is an interesting way of sight seeing in the city of Georgetown, Penang. You will be able to cover every historical buildings (such as this colonial bungalow) of the strait settlement via its heritage trails in an eco-friendly mode of transportation. Made out of a bicycle and roofed 2-seater bench attached to the bicycle. Famous for young couples going for date 20 years ago and famous for old couples remembering their youth days today.

I have travelled the world and never anywhere have I seen a trishaw other than in Penang and its sister strait settlement, Melacca. Presumably, Hong Kong or Macau ought to have but to my disappointment, none appeared during my visit to those oriental places. My next bet would be Adelaide Australia given that Adelaide is a sister city to Penang having founded by the same colonial master, Francis Light. So I reckon the mayor of Penang must have donated one to the Downunder city. Anyone from Adelaide? Have you seen one down there? Do update me.

This particular photo is a row of beca but the apparent one is beca with the registration number: 648

THE FIRST BORN MEDITATES & THE SECOND BORN WEEPS

URING the turn of the millennium, I had only 2 nephews, no nieces and none of my own. Naturally, whatever experiments I had to do on a child, you know who the victims would be. These boys are teenagers now. They will look back in laughter. Thank you Faiq and Firdaus for the early modelling talent.

SYCHOTIC (attached below) is just a random expression of art born out of chaotic mind in the absence of purpose. You can see there are some copy and paste pieces from my other work Lampalm Death and Use Your Illusion I & II. Some symbols from the various font type are sporadically placed and all attempt to use every colour thinkable at that moment. This piece, whilst not intelligent in its presentation, amused me nevertheless. Why? well, There are some hidden small drawings. Try to look for them... listed below:

1. A camel under a palm tree
2. A pair of lips sucking ciggy
3. A pair of eyes staring an apple
4. Two foot steps
5. A chess board with its pieces
6. A pornographic square

There are other symbols as mentioned earlier, but those are fixed images from the options available from font type rather than my own work.

This is probably my last piece of Computer Graphics to be posted in this blog. I have exhausted all my Paintbrush work extracted from 3 1/4 inch diskettes that survived 15 years of storage against fungus, de-magnetism, etc. Luckily, I managed to extract all of them - had to spend RM100 for the external diskette drive which no one ever use nowadays and no laptops nor desktops have any longer. If fact, I had to go to 10 IT shops before finding one.

Going forward, new posts on this blog would probably be predominantly oil painting, some remaining photography work which I haven't posted and some occasional poems. Working on a Computer Graphic piece requires a lot of time in front of the desktop - not a good way to start a fight with a wife who uses the desktop for work every night. I think I will enjoy doing oil painting.

So, a good way to end my contribution in the faculty of Computer Graphics, I give you "Psychotic"

USE YOUR ILLUSION I & II

at 10:22 PM
UT of facination of my Paintbrush work, 2 CBN'ers in Melbourne jumped in front of the computer kicking me out of the way to help me complete the replication of the Guns n Roses album covers for Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II. I can't remember what they did but my guess would be spraying the red and purple electronic air brush like chicks playing with water hose. Nevertheless, they did good. Thanks Ina and Tasha !

Y attempt to plagarise the album cover for Napalm Death - Harmony Corruption. Nazri (Jin Botol) wanted to test Paintbrush so I left the label at the top left corner for him to complete... to my amusement, it ended up as LAMPALM DEATH instead of NAPALM DEATH. When asked why, he answered: "I like Ikan Lampam Jawa". What a nut case.

ICROSOFT invented a computer graphics software named Paintbrush (later changed to Paint). Why "Paintbrush" when art work using this software is no where close to a paint brush's strokes? So I decided to "paint" something using "Paintbrush" to test how difficult it is to paint like a proper paint brush. The result,.... as you can see above, not very convincing. Maybe Microsoft ought to change the name to Microsoft Computer Graphics?

T is 4:26pm now on 18 Jan 2010 and its close to the Muslim prayer time Asar. Asar starts at 4:49pm today and I still haven't done the prayers for Zohor which is the prayer time just before Asar. So, I ought to go for my Zohor prayers now before Asar kicks in. All this reminded me of a paintbrush piece I did back in 1994 with a friend, Shuhairi (a.k.a Mosh). I think he did the sand storm on the sky bit whereas the rest was all from me.

Al-Asr, ie the "Time" literally translated from Arabic, means both Time as well as the prayer time Asar. Asar is set during the most busy part of a day, ie after lunch when traders are actively completing all sales transaction for the day. This is also true for modern day when people realised that they have wasted much of their morning in the office and only left to clear work in the evening. Having said so, its the best time for man to forget their prayers. Hence this Quranic verses to remind man to stop with earthly activities just for 5 minutes and to pray to God. From a simple "Time" perspective, the verse also reminds man to make good use of time as time, cannot be replaced.

The translation of the Quranic verse, I think, as far as I remember, is as follows, but of course open to everyone's intellectual interpretation:

In the name of Time
Man are at lost
Unless,
Those with faith and good deeds
And those who stand by the truth
And those who embrace patience

Well, its 4:37pm now,.. I'd better save and publish this and head for the sejadah for prayers.

ELL, similar to what happened in the case of the other piece called Who Let The Bat Out?, this piece was born out of someone else's interest to try out paintbrush. It was a friend, Ina. Not sure which part of Sylvester did she do but this piece was done by me with her assistance. We practically plagarised Sylvester as how he appeared on one of my t-shirt labeled Rebel Without Claws,.. a tribute to Jame Dean I suppose?

T is 2:50pm on 16 January 2010 and I am still at the desk top waiting for my wife to get ready for Aaron's Superhero birthday party far far away in Setiawangsa.. i repeat far far away (for dudes in Shah Alam,.. Ampang and its proximity is indeed far far away especially when the trafic sucks - sorry for swearing,.. for lack of better words).

Anyway, I am already in my dark grey t-shirt with a black Batman logo on it. Daniel is running around the house with his black cape and proudly displaying his yellow Batman logo on his t-shirt. Poor Daniel, Daddy and Mommy forgot to buy a black eye mask. So, while waiting for the lady putting on her lipstick to match the metallic pink bat logo on her black t-shirt, I decided to post a blog of my paintbrush work on, surprise, surprise,... the Bat logo. Its simple, vibrant, no deviation from its original form as trademarked by DC Comics,.. and what satisfied me most is the perfect simmetrical flip I had done using paintbrush to get the left vs right accuracy. I hereby present you,.... the Batman emblem:

N the beginning, there was Sandy Line Inc., a football team of those who lived along Sandringham line in Melbourne, mostly in South Yarra. Of course this was a team of hooligans who had fun playing football and no hopes to win the 7-aside Malaysian student tournament.

I was in on the field for 5 minutes and had the opportunity to dribble the ball face to face with the opponent's goalie,.. of course it was off-side. Being the heavy-smoker I was/am, 5 minutes was enough to drain my energy and I collapsed with a cramped calf,.... there goes my hope of scoring the only goal in my lifetime. Nevertheless, we had fun. The line ups were: Jin, Tom, Shimi, Arthur, Mosh, myself and a couple others whom I have forgotten. We created our own jersey plagarising Vision Street Wear as follows:

The winning team was another bunch of Malaysians. They called themselves, The Ghetto Boys. The Ghetto Boys were magnificent but unfortunately, most of them completed their studies the following year and they were left with just a few that did not make up the 7.

So that year, being the final year for most of the Sandy Line dudes as well as the remaining Ghetto Boys, a merger was unavoidable. It was our final year in Melbourne and the Petronas team seemed to be in tip top shape. With the desire to deprive the Petronas team from taking away the title, Yarra Ghetto was formed consisting the original line ups from Sandy Line and Shankar and gang from the Ghettos.... and an import from the Royal Malaysian Army, can't remember his name,.. was it Suria? Anyway, this military guy was cool,..... he kept on referring to the opponents as "Musuh".

....and so we won,... the Ghettos maintained the title but this time with the synergy of the South Yarrans, all proud to display our new emblem below:

...and my jersey, No.9:

Not sure whether she remembers this or not but back in 1994, she wanted a piece of Paintbrush work dedicated to her,.. so I did the background, the clouds, the moon, cemetary and fence;... and of course, like a sugar-hypered child, Aida wanted to leave behind her dolby mark,... that's how the Bat came into existence.

grew up not liking sports. Somehow that changed when I saw a Hooker in a scrum brokeaway from the pack doing his side-steps diving into the touch down rectangle. Mr Fitzpatrick, the epitome Rugby (Union) captain, worthy of being a leader of the lagendary All Blacks. Naturally I too had a fair share of enjoying Rugby (Union) while schooling. So Rugby (Union) became close to my heart and I am glad to have spent 7 years in the Rugby Nation of Downunder.

Whilst the Wallabies seem to be the team that I have hopes for in winning the World Cup, deep down inside, I will always be waiting for the come back of a winning team that carries the Fern emblem.

ALAYSIAN flag, Jalur Gemilang (Glory Stripes) they call it, is colourful and vibrant. The calm blue reflecting unity flanked with red and white stripes synergising strength and purity. Yellow depicting the constitutional monarchy and the moon and star, signs of cosmic divinity of God-fearing beings. 14 pointed star and 14 layers of stripes quantifying the 13 states and a federal territory.

But one thing I just cannot understand, why on Earth did we plagarise the American flag,... you know what I mean........

HEN I was in school, I was so facinated by Malay's Taboo on anything relating to Pigs. Whilst I understand the reasons stem from religious appreciation of Islam, I fail to understand why God had created a creature such as Pigs, only to be hated by mankind. Poor piggy didn't do any sins to anyone but some treated them as if their sin was "existence" itself. Pigs, are dirty buggers. It is Haram to eat them but it is NOT! Haram to hold them. You simply just need to wash yourself if you touch them because of the deceases and nasty microbs that they carry - religiously washing using earth or mud but suffice to say that earth and mud is the all natural origin of the concept of "soap"! (Ancient Chinese used it to wash plates)

So, out of this facination, I, those days, chosed a pig head as an emblem for my grafitti whenever I vandalise the walls and furniture in the boarding school. The image shows a pig head from a side profile with a smoking ciggy in its mouth and a bow-tie around the neck. This pig also has really big ears like Dumbo and closes its eye while smiling. I think I created this emblem way back in 1990 but I only gave a name to it later in 1993, which is Abdul Kelemumur.
